Everyone has ideas. These ideas are sometimes doodled on the back of a napkin or on the corner of a white board. But more often than not, they are forgotten. For some dreamers however, the ideas grow and become a reality. They go from doodles... to presentations... to prototypes... to first customers... and soon thereafter, the sky is their limit.
And while the skies are not always clear, entrepreneurial minds consistently find ways to navigate them. They find hidden opportunities, they face testing obstacles, and they defy cynical skeptics. Today's financially turbulent environment comes with its own set of challenges that require creativity, insight and resolve to navigate successfully.
The entrepreneurs who passionately pursue their dreams, in spite of challenges, have inspired this year's theme, White Board. Blue Sky: Carrying Ideas to Success.
The Wharton Entrepreneurship Conference brought to you by Morgan Lewis is one of the country's most widely attended entrepreneurship conferences. Over its twelve year history, it has attracted thousands of students, professionals and academics, as well as coverage from media companies such as the Wall Street Journal, Forbes and CNN. This student-run conference has also vastly benefited from various speakers and their entrepreneurial and business knowledge in the form of keynotes as well as panelists. Past participants in the conference include Thomas Stemberg (Founder and CEO of Staples), David Neeleman (Founder and CEO of JetBlue Airways) and Darius Bikoff (Founder of Glaceau, maker of VitaminWater).
This year's conference will interactively look at the stories of entrepreneurs and their ventures, learning from their experiences in the past, understanding their places in the present environment, and looking forward to their decisions for the future.
We are inviting over 500 professionals, entrepreneurs, and students to participate in the conference. We are especially thrilled to present Julian Brodsky, founder, director and chairman of Comcast Corporation and Donny Deutsch, Chairman of Deutsch, Inc. and host of CNBC's The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch as our keynote speakers this year. Our keynotes (or "lunch keynote") will be complemented by words of wisdom from Farhad Mohit, founder and CEO of Shopzilla/Bizrate and DotSpots.
